Growth of Social Commerce [Infographic]

Over the last few years, we have seen a sharp increase in the number of social media platforms growing to take over our lives. There is a small handful of these platforms which are having a huge influence on our digitally connected world, and these include Facebook, Instagram and Twitter especially.

These networks have a huge worldwide audience which has transformed these humble social networks into revolutionary methods of communication, connectivity, and marketing.

We live in a world dominated by digital marketing, and thanks to our massive use of social media, social media and ecommerce are coming together like never before, in ways nobody could ever have predicted. This comes in the form of social commerce, and you are now able to connect and shop with your favourite brands without ever having to leave your favourite social media sites. eBay is a good example of a company that uses social networks to share information about the latest eBay discounts or sales directly on their social media pages, and therefore increasing their reach significantly and getting the word out to a significantly higher number of people.

This is why social media has become such a powerful tool for businesses and brands: consumers always want the next best thing and being able to shop on social media sites without having to leave and enter your information on a new website definitely ticks all the right boxes.

If you do not currently have a presence on social media and you are a business owner or director, now is the time to do it. It does not matter what your business, product or service is, what matters is that you have a presence on social media, through which you can engage with customers and clients to drive up sales.
