Ways to monetize your blog

We bloggers love to do blogging and want to monetize our blog in different ways like monetizing it with Google AdSense and other PPC programs. Some of them did not have good luck to get approval from AdSense and some of them get their AdSense account banned.

Blogging does not end with AdSense. There are hundreds of ways you can monetize your blog. Affiliate Marketing is one of them.

Affiliate marketing is one of my primary ways to monetize my blog. As I have stated earlier that my first income is from affiliate marketing.

How to use affiliate marketing with blogging?

Blogging helps you to make most out of your affiliate marketing. Blogging helps you to promote affiliate products easily and effective. Here are some of reasons that blog helps you to make money from affiliate marketing:

  • Blogging helps you to connect with your audience and build trust. Thus it helps products to convert very well.
  • With blogging affiliate marketing is very easy. You can promote products that help to solve your user’s problem and hence help you to make commission from it.
  • Blogging helps you to understand your users need and give them relevant product which is a win-win situation for both of you.

I usually write product reviews on my blog because it will help me provide in-depth details and insights about the products and services which I am promoting.

Writing a killer review copy always converts very well. Mention everything about the products and services including its pros and cons. Some of the newbie bloggers think that mentioning the cons about the product will harm their commission but in reality it helps you to build trust and thus increase your sales and conversions.

I highly recommend bloggers to give relevant products and also try the product and services before writing the review as it will help you to test out the product and give detailed information about it. This will make your reviews more genuine and professional.

You can use bullets to point out some of the key features of the products and services. Thoroughly give the every information about the products and services which you are promoting.

I always recommend my users to cloak their affiliate link. Naked affiliate links looks very ugly and not SEO friendly. You can use plugins like thirsty affiliate and pretty links lite to cloak your affiliate links. This will not only make your affiliate links looks professional and user-friendly but also protect your affiliate links as well.

Over to you

Affiliate Marketing is not a rocket science not as hard you think. With blogging affiliate marketing is never easy again. I always prefer blogging as one of the best way to do affiliate marketing and make good sales and conversion by providing relevant products and services.

Let me know how blogging and affiliate marketing works for you. If you have any thoughts and questions feel free to share in comments.

  2. Hey Vishwajeet!

I love blogging and affiliate marketing!

Blogging is the best thing that ever happened to me. It took me a long time and a lot of consistent work to build a successful blog online, and it was all well worth it!

What I would highly recommend to a new blogger and affiliate marketer is to start building an email list right away. The money is definitely in the list. But not just any email list, but a targeted email list. You want to have people who are interested in products in your niche here.

Blogging + Affiliate Marketing + Email Marketing – go hand in hand!

    Thanks for sharing this!

    Cheers! 😀

    • Hey Freddy,

You are absolutely right, Email marketing is most important thing in affiliate marketing and blogging. I always prefer or suggest newbies to create email list from the first day of blogging. Thanks for pointing out this Mate 🙂

      Have a great day 🙂

  3. For me blogging and starting a blog is the best way to market an affiliate link. It is too exhausting if you will be using social media for marketing affiliate links. Not like using a blog your marketing an affiliate link and passively. So i agree blogging can help us do affiliate marketing.

    • Hey Paul,

Glad to know that blogging can help you in affiliate marketing. Thanks for stopping by and dropping your comment. I really appreciate that.

      Have a Great Day 🙂

    • You’re right, Paul, but I would say that promoting an affiliate link should not be our (online marketers’) number one priority.
I as an online marketer firstly care about building my own brand.
If you are a well-respected trustworthy person you can sell almost everything – even t-shirts to investors, or cups to programmers.
I remember, five or something years ago there was so-called SEO-water. Funny, isn’t it? But SEOs would purchase it 🙂

  4. Hey Vishwajeet,

Blogging is a great way to do affiliate marketing. I see blogging as a tool to do affiliate marketing.

Of course, one can blast their affiliate links in social media. But I am not sure how much useful that can be to their target audience.

On the other hand, the content on blog can be useful – say, a tutorial on how to use a particular tool or software, or a review would be helpful.

    Thanks for sharing.

    • Hey Jane,

You are absolutely right. Blogging is really a great way to do affiliate marketing. A Blog helps you to connect with your audience and build trust and authority online. Thanks for stopping by and dropping your comment.

  5. Hi Vishwajeet,

No doubt, product reviews are a great way to monetize your blog.

You’ve given some real great advice on how to go about doing that and I hope more people consider doing ethical affiliate reviews.

Like you said… it’s important to let people know the weaknesses of the products that you review not just the strengths.

That shows them that you are doing a sincere review and not just trying to sell something whether or not it has any value.

  6. Hi Vishwajeet,

Love that trust building add. I did little affiliate marketing years ago but am an Amazon Affiliate now, as an Associate. I have also been an affiliate for travel related opportunities too. Blogging is a bridge builder, helping you jump the gap between being an unknown blogger and someone folks know, like and trust. Once you get your trust factor down of course those affiliate sales with slowly and steadily increase.

    • Hey Ryan,

Trust Building is definitely important when we are in affiliate marketing. People don’t buy stuffs or product suggestion from a stranger. Thanks for stopping by and dropping your comment.

      Have a great day 🙂
